Border Agency rip off

I had to pop to the post office at lunch time to pick up a parcel from RAFM of even more Martians.Another legion pack,High Martians, the Human pack and some native troops in British service.

I got a shock when I had to paid a fee from the new Borders Agency for 'handling'.For what?Bunch of .....well you can guess what.

I'll try to get it back as I find no grounds for the charge in their regs. They should do the job they were set up for not step into the area of HM C&E who didn't charge me a fee on a box of models.

Still I have almost every range of RAFM Martians now and it should keep me busy painting and have enough for some good sized games over the year.Plus my movement trays are done and should be here soon from the very helpful Martin at Warbases.co.uk

If you haven't checked out their website yet you should do.Some of the best prices on the internet and they go out of their way to help you with requests.

Progress on the Martian Front

Sorry about the pic quality but same old problem.

I'm still wading through a lead pile of Martians (RAFM) but hope to get up some new pics of the new ones soon. The Gashants are painted but not all the riders or their lances. The infantry are going a bit slower as they were halted my a group of martian civilians (Brigade Games) which turned up on Wednesday and took over my painting table.Though when finished I should hopefully have a full band of Martian infantry between 60-70 figures including officers and a detactment of cavalry.

While all this is happening I'm still working on my Cloudships and if the Games Workshop have the right paint I'm looking for the first one should be finished next weekend with luck. Then I can start working on the big one and more Martian buildings or even a 3D canal section.

Martian Formations

I'm playing with the idea of different Martian battle formations that could counter Human weapons.

The Steel Head

The Iron Head

The Bronze Head

The Arrowhead-Heavy Armoured troops on the edges while marksmen in the centre followed by light Infantry. This could stand up to light fire but would likely have problems with gatling guns,a field gun or heavy rifle fire at close range but should allow troops to cross open terrain to close on the earthmen.

I hope to have movement trays made for the arrow heads and then buy trays to add the arrow shafts for following troops.
